How Does Compare The Man And Van Work?

Compare The Man And Van is a marketplace comparison site that allows customers to choose from the wide range of drivers that meet their requirements. Customers will choose you based on your availability, van size, reviews, and most importantly your price.

Is It free To Join Compare The Man And Van?

Yes, it is free! You do not have to pay anything to join the platform as a driver.

How Can I join Compare The Man And Van?

You can either download the the app via the app store, or play store by searching "Shift Provider app" or by clicking here whilst on your smart phone. You can then start making your profile!

What happens once I have made a profile?

Once you have set up your profile, one of our driver team will review your profile and reach out to you. They will answer any questions you have as well as explain how the platform works and how to get work.

Do I need my own Van or can I use a hired van?

Yes. You will need your own van. This can be a privately hired van as long as it has the correct documents to allow the van to be used for business.

What Size Van do I need?

We offer 4 different van sizes for customers to book on the website. You can have all 4, or any of the sizes to be a driver on Compare The Man And Van. We offer Small (SWB), Medium (MWB), large (LWB), and Giant (xlwb - 3.5T Luton) options when booking.

What Documents do I need?

You will need a valid Driving licence, and the correct Motor Insurance for the van. We also recommend Goods in Transit cover and Public Liability Insurance.

Setting up your profile

How Much Do I Get Paid?

You will set up your own rates for any exclusive bookings which determines how much you get paid. Rates include hourly as well as Mileage charge. If you get a job from the available jobs section, the price will already be set.

Why do I need to set up a profile?

Your Profile is what customers see when they are choosing to book someone! Upload a nice picture of your van so customers know what they are getting, and a short bio about you and what stands you out from other drivers.

How Can I set my calendar?

You will only show to customers when you say you are available. This means you won't get booked if you need to be off any particular day. You can set your own availability via your account to only get booked when you are available.

How do I get paid?

You will get paid directly to your bank account via Stripe connect through the app.
