The driver we originally booked with cancelled the day before - luckily someone else came in their place. The driver was on time which was good but offered no direction in terms of loading the van which was a slight concern. Also no straps or blankets so our belongings were really at the mercy of the driver's skills and the roads which were thankfully pretty good. When we arrived at our new house, the driver started to help us unload. This seemed like a nice gesture but we realised we were actually being rushed. We finished an hour earlier than our expected time but they still asked for the full 3.5 hours or cash which was a little disappointing. Not entirely sure that I would book again.
The driver and his helper were kind, calm and respectful. Everything was done in a professional manner and would definitely book them again.

He was OK but the communication was not clear at all. We booked a move from London to Scotland and checked with him twice before the date if that was OK because it was a long way. He said it was fine. On the day he showed up he said he would need to stay the night in Glasgow and charge us for an extra day. That would've been fine if we had known in advance as we could've planned appropriately for the move. As it was we showed up to our new home with no furniture or possessions. Also, we paid for 12 hours through comparethemanandvan but he only used about 9 to Glasgow, but since he had to stay the night we still got charged an overnight fee, a hotel, and 3 extra hours the following day.
We were then also charged additional VAT on the extra hours. Can comparethemanandvan confirm if the £25/half hour extra you quote is VAT inclusive or exclusive? Our driver insisted it was exclusive so we paid even more.
All in all we paid about 50% more than the price generated here so we're not best pleased.
The team were professional, polite and helpful. They worked over time without complaint and did not increase their fee. We gave them a tip to cover their extra time and work - we would have given them more but we gave them all the cash we had. Brilliant service - couldn't recommend more
Khan arrived early and made our life so much easier. He was calm, friendly and professional. I will ask for his help again next time I move house!

Driver was fast and in time, didn’t have straps
Driver was great although his English wasn’t great we were able to communicate with each other. Having booked a van that couldn’t accommodate us we were given a replacement driver. The driver was polite, on time and a nice guy. What annoyed me was when we booked and you rearranged the driver, you told us nothing would change, ie the cost would stay the same, they new company tried to charge me an extra £70+ which I refused to pay. But apart from that it was a great service.
Driver was an hour late with no explanation. Language barriers were also an issue.

I’m afraid a suitcase of my things was mislaid on the journey from Oxford to London. It was definitely put in the van as we moved everything out of the flat for them to collect and nothing was left behind. I asked them to check and came back and said it wasn’t in the van. It’s really upsetting as so much of my stuff is in it. Is there anything you can help with?
Driver was bang on time and came with straps and blankets. He was very careful with all our stuff but extremely efficient, we finished earlier than the booked time! Super helpful getting larger items up the stairs too. Definitely recommend!

The driver was excellent, very helpful. Only downside was the compare the man and van site. Driver was changed the evening before and then we called the new driver at 10 am (our pick up time) and there was a bit of confusion over the order. However, the driver sorted someone else to come before 11am.
Late over 1hour, but good otherwise

The driver came at very short notice after a cancellation from another driver which left us concerned. He was very friendly and handled our belongings with care. Will be contacting him again in the future

The driver was ok and loaded the van but we carried out all the furniture and he helped unload later .however I was very annoyed because the driver reversed in to my drive and hit my house wall and the broke my guttering and then when I told him he said it was nothing and he’d knock a tenner off !

Mixed fellings about this experience. I had my moved booked, called the driver in the morning to confirm everything was good to go (move scheduled for afternoon) and 1 hour before the time received a cancelation email. A new driver was assigned but also canceled 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Finally a 3rd driver came, about 2h30 after the prescheduled time (not to his fault as he was just assigned to the job) and the move only finished at midnight.
The driver himself was impecable, very courtious and well prepared with blankets and straps (hence the 5 star review).
After Comparethemanvan website changed our driver for 3x, Muhammed and team saved our lives! We only hired a giant Luton van but it turned out that we would need another giant van, good thing Muhammed came with his medium van along with the giant and he swiftly took over the move. He had to take another trip to the old destination to take on more stuff back to us. We were very pleased with our drivers service, we do hope that this website however would give us accurate quote of how much van we need with our stuff!
I was ditched by 3 drivers. I booked Mr Ramzan at the last moment. He came on time. Helped me load my stuff and was extremely courteous and professional. I was able to move hassel free. Thank you Ramzaan.

The driver knew that his previous job may run over due to traffic so called me in advance to tell me which worked for me and then sent a colleague ahead to bring items to ground floor in prep for the driver and so timing still worked out. Great movers, would use again.

I think you are ALL brilliant. From making the booking to receiving the confirmation email, to receiving one hour text notice - seamless! The driver Ramzan was on time, courteous, helpful and knew his stuff. Delivery was also on time and smooth. Well done guys, highly recommended.
First driver cancelled as the van was broken down. Had to wait 2 1/2 hours for another van. Was only phoned after more than 1 hour to inform me of the situation and my calls and messages were not answered. The second van and driver were good though

He charged me £25 in cash for going into the congestion charge zone and the ultra low emission zone. I found out today that the charges have been suspended by TfL between Christmas & New Year so I shouldn’t have been asked for it. I would like to get this money back.

The driver was very helpful and worked hard. He arrived ten minutes early.
Ramzan was very helpful and very efficient in moving our furniture and belongings. He was organised on what items to put in the van first and arranged it systematically so we can fit all our furniture for the 1st trip and the rest of our belongings for the 2nd trip.
Ramzan was great. I asked if he could come 20 minutes early at the last minute and it was no problem. Helpful and careful.

Driver was polite and good work, but said that the van had space for 2 people. However, he was working with a colleague, so I had to travel separately at additional cost whilst my partner went in the van, which was not great.
Mohammad and his team were excellent. They arrived on time and were great at communicating with us about how they were getting on. They were careful with our fragile items and very friendly throughout. I would highly recommend to anyone.
The driver was 2hrs late, didn't help assembling the furniture as requested and damaged some of my furniture in the move - I am really unhappy with the service provided and would like someone from the customer service team of compare the man &van to get in touch with me to discuss this further.

I'm sorry that you felt that you needed to write a bad review.
The number given to us by Ginerva was her office number and while I was at a 7am job I tried to call Ginerva but her office was closed. At 8am I then again called the number and they informed me that Ginerva was not going to be in that day. I then emailed Ginerva asking her to call me on my number and she called me back around 9:15 am. On the call I told her that I was late and I arrived around 10:15 am.
(1) I arrived one hour late, however, I updated her by call. Even though we were late we still completed the 2.5 hour job.
(2) Ginevra did request for dismantling and assembling. The dismantling was already completed by Ginevra and her friend and when I requested to help with the assembling she refused.
(3) When Ginevra and her friend dismantled the furniture, she must have damaged it herself because, whilst I was loading the furniture onto my van I noticed the damage and I have photos as proof, I have attached them below. I carefully put away the furniture and made sure to add no further damage. Therefore, I had nothing to do with her damaged furniture as I only loaded and reloaded the furniture.
(4) Ginevra also requested for a one man van and I arrived with 2 men and a van and no extra cost was charged.

We had great chat and driver was very helpful. I forgot to add stairs for extra cost but he managed to wave that fee off. I will definitely use this service again. Their service is second to none. Maybe 10 stars if its possible.
The driver was on time, but he did not help out a lot with the carrying of stuff. I luckily had help from my friends. He left earlier than the 3.5 hours I booked him for.

Highly recommended - very smooth move
Great service and very friendly! we packed and unpacked everything in a few hours. Driver was very respectful and experienced. We managed to move the couch out of house through very narrow stairs with no problem. I was so impressed! Driver was 30 min late but he called way before to let me know so all good.

My driver was excellent. I appreciated his assistance in loading the van, his ability to safely and effectively navigate rush hour traffic in Central London and his pleasant conversation. I wouldn't hesitate to use his services again.

Arrived 15 minutes late and left 20 minutes early on a 2.5 hour job. He didn't help me move all my items to my new flat on the 1st floor and left it all on the ground floor entrance. Other than that he was fine

"I am sorry that you feel that you need to write a bad review. I arrived on time, but as you had to take me to a different entrance this took extra time.
I helped load the van to try and ensure that there was no extra time for the customer and on arriving at the destination there was no parking available and only a footpath.
Therefore as it was difficult to park I helped to unload the van and placed all items by the lift so that it would be easier for the client.
Again to ensure that no extra time was charged to the customer, the full 2.5 hours were used.

I needed an emergency delivery, because an other companies driver didn't showed up.
I've contacted Man And Van to have a lift. This guy called me, that he can do it even earlier if it's ok for me. He came in the exactly time. Everything went flawless after. He saved our evening, after waiting so long for the other company's driver.
Really helpful and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Great service! They were incredibly efficient and put everything in our chosen rooms. Can't fault it.
Overall very good experience. The driver was 30min late and let us know only at the expected arrival time when all our stuff were already on the street. A part for this little inconvenience, he was very helpful and helped us even though we did not book for a man. He didn’t ask for extra money for his help but we tipped him as we were very grateful.

Mohammed was all round a great man with a van. He arrived before the time in case we wanted to start early and helped us load the van properly so our items were safe. When we arrived at our destination he got the van as close as possible to make unloading very easy!
My driver arrived at the wrong address, and kept telling me 'this is the postcode you've given', even though he was not on the right street. I had to go and find him, and luckily one of my flatmates was in to watch all of my stuff which was on the street ready for loading. If I had been alone, I wouldn't have been able to go find him. I then loaded my stuff, only to find he had left the van and had to wait 10 mins for him to return from Costa - given that I had a fairly tight schedule as the traffic was bad, it is fortunate that these two delays didn't lead to me going over the time limit (and this is only the case because my flatmates on either side unexpectedly helped with loading and unloading which is not something I planned for). However the worst bit that I would like to bring to your attention, is that my driver was watching videos on his phone WHILE HE WAS DRIVING. I felt incredibly unsafe for large portions of the journey, knowing that he was not giving the road his full attention. I am extremely disappointed that my driver was changed after I had made the booking and paid in full - I deliberately selected my driver based on his high scoring reviews, and I can only assume that the driver I was given had a much lower rating. Disappointing.

I am sorry that you felt that you had to write such a review. I would like to clarify that I was on time and the navigation took me to the next street, which was frustrating for both of us. If the correct postal code was given to me, this would not have happened.
The job was booked without any help from me and I therefore opened the back of the van and gave you access to load your belongings. Costa was across the road and therefore quickly grabbed a coffee, I was back before you made your call to me to confirm that you had finished.
I assure you that I was not watching a video while driving, and would never risk myself or a passenger to this.
I can also confirmed that to assist you in finishing on time I helped to unload the van and therefore no extra charges were incurred

He was an hour and a half late, the driver was a little rude and demanded that I write a good review. He wasn’t very apologetic for the delay.

Very sweet guys and tried to accommodate where necessary, also very efficient in loading and unloading, however they weren’t on time, and were quite rough with the boxes. I expect they were in a rush as they kindly picked up my job last minute due to a cancellation.

Please advise and check the size of the van before sending a Luton van instead of a transit.

Please note that it is standard for drivers with larger vehicles to quote for smaller van size work and we can see that you booked a large van. We cannot see that there were any notes made on the booking to make us aware that a transit vehicle would be specifically needed.

My driver was absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t be more impressed with the service.
He called ahead of time to let me know he was on his way and his ETA, turned up promptly and made an effort to park as close to my door as possible, at the old and new flat.
He was incredibly efficient - I could not believe how quick and effortless he made my move both from my previous flat and into my new one (notwithstanding various flights of stairs, etc.)
