The driver was pleasant, relaxed, and very helpful. Equally though, be careful with the number of flights of stairs you book if going with this driver, as the driver is (in my opinion) unreasonably specific with the quote specifications.
I would still quite strongly recommend the driver though, as he was genuinely very helpful and respectful with the items, and wore a mask throughout.
At the end, the driver insisted on £15 cash due to the inconvenience of helping carry a mattress and bed up an extra two flights of stairs, due to confusion when I booked (the flat was on the third floor, which I mistook as 2 flights of stairs). In my view, this was unreasonable when considering (1) providing him the convenience of finishing in 1 hour 10 mins rather than 2 hours, (2) providing him the convenience of allowing half the items be put into a garage (i.e. no floors), and (3) providing him the convenience of being 10 mins late. However, I do recognise that I made a mistake - this is all just to say be careful when booking to avoid a similar situation!

Driver was late but only because the subcontractor changed twice on the morning. Driver was polite and helpful, but I was disappointed that he asked for an extra £15 at the last minute - claiming that Compare hadn't charged for enough sets of stairs (i.e. 2nd floor should count as 4 flights of stairs instead of 2 because they change direction part-way through each floor). This was odd given that he only went upstairs twice as we'd carried everything else down ourselves while waiting for him to arrive.

On the 3 points that are mentioned in the review regarding the booking for Lisa on the 04/06/20 at 2.30 pm, I would like to say the following:
1. The customer accuses me of not being on time. Do you know what she implies? (LATE OR EARLY) ?
2. With regards to her complaint of not using blankets and not being respectful.
I don't agree with this.
I believe first of all she was expecting a van driver to do all the job by himself and for her not to help as mentioned on her booking.
Nevertheless, I was not rude and just did the job and left.
Therefore, I am a bit surprised to hear that I was apparently not respectful? Could you please ask the client what did to be disrespectful ?
On a second note, she mentioned not using blankets and being late. First of all, I' arrived there on time and I can send you a screen shot of a text message letting her know that I had arrived if necessary. She had boxes properly packed which did not require blankets. I used the blanket for her fan which in my opinion was the only item that needed protecting.

CMV 10-03-2020: the driver called that the customer has completely changed both addresses to E1 3GE - E3 2TB. The driver was okay with this and he did not want us to calculate the new price for him. There are 3 flights of stairs at the collection and the customer has been made aware that this driver charges £7.50 per flight per man. KT
Some loading bays have height restrictions. Please check and confirm first.

This was not the driver which was booked, it was changed to this driver by man and van. Usually even though we didn't pay for help pack the driver show us how to open the van/ use the back part, stand guard to stop bits being stolen when we're running in and out of the building but this guy sat there, I had to keep tapping on his window to communicate

The driver is not obligated to take you back to your collection address if this return journey was not included in your booking. The reason for this is that his next job would be scheduled to run on from your delivery address.
Arrived late, left early. Nearly 25 minutes was cut short. We had requested help up three flights of stairs which was clearly stated on the invoice but the driver refused to help, prompting us to call customer services. Once we did this he did help, but with only 30 minutes remaining he left ten minutes early. We made everything as easy as possible by getting all furniture by the front door the evening before and had extremely good loading access, we definitely feel short changed.

We can see that no stairs were booked and paid for on this booking, although the customer was happy to subsequently pay the stair charge during the booking.
Our originally booked van could not make it due to mechanical problems, but Comparethemanandvan found Roger's Van for us at short notice. Roger came with a large van with a lift at the back, which was a nice bonus. Very quiet, but helpful. A bit too quick with the unloading at the storage facility, so that we couldn't help and there was some very light damage to a drawer cabinet (cheap, so no drama, but could have been prevented with two people carrying). He managed to get to us in snowy conditions and was efficient. Impressed with the service from Compare as well.
