The van wasn't the one I payed for. I will not deal with you again.


Driver's response:

1. I have a LARGE van Ford Transit T350 high roof reg HN60AAE and that is the van I have been using since I joined CMV till date. So it is large.
2. However, when I arrived the customer and the boyfriend thought that the van would not contain their stuff. After loading all the stuff I joked with her by saying that "you thought I have a small van but look, we have spaces left for more things. To which she replied that her heart skipped a bit as she thought that the van was not big enough. I don't know what she meant by " squished to fit". You cannot squish peoples' property.
3. Finally, it is strange that she wrote that I have no blankets and straps. The truth is that I loaded the van with her boyfriend while she was sometimes inside the house, and we wrapped one dark brown bedside cupboard in one of my blankets because the boyfriend said that he doesn't want the cupboard to have a scratch. She obviously didn't see that. When we offloaded their stuff I took back my blanket. If the boyfriend did write the review he would never have said that. Again my blankets and straps are stored in a compartment in the back of the van and the clients don't see that unless they have items that require wrapping and that is when I bring them out. In her case I used a blanket and the boyfriend was grateful I had.

DO NOT USE. Very dodgy, extremely expensive and very poor service.The driver didn't want to help carry things onto the bus, although I had booked it for the driver. Most importantly, he charged me ￡12 more for arriving half an hour late in traffic. His attitude was so bad that I regretted choosing his car.

Great service from Eddie, he arrived early and helped load and unload all my things.

Driver was 15 minutes late but he warned us beforehand that he would be so wasn't a major issue. Van was smaller than expected but Eddie is a magician with that van and managed to get 95% of our stuff in there - the rest wasn't an issue as going back to the old house for final checks. My wife and I did most of the moving items from flat to van and van to flat at the new place while Eddie sorted out the van but he was very handy for the larger items like the sofa and larger furniture items. Very friendly guy and does everything with a smile. Would use a again.

Quick and convenient. We didnt have any furniture just alot of boxes but having help meant we were packed, moved and unpacked within 2hours. Pleasant drive over on the van. Alot easier than doing it yourself for a fair price. I would reccomend.

Quoted an extra 50£ for disassembling which we didn’t manage to do, didn’t take some items so we needed another drive, didn’t have any tools to do bed disassembling. My friend did most of loading 😂 Was nice and respectful so I think just a bit disorganised.

Thanks for your mail and here are my answers.

1. I have 5 blankets and straps that can hold weight of up to 200kg See the attached photo of the inside of the van, also a toolbox in the van). However they are always stored in a locked compartment on top of the van. I bring them out when they are needed. So when I use it for a customer they will say that I have them but if it is not needed and I don't use them some say that I dont have them. Should I announce that to all customers even if they don't need them?

2. The customer asked me before I went that I will dismantle a bed and a dinning table and re-assemble at the new house. I told her that I have tools if she wants to do it herself, but that it will cost her £50 if I do it and she agreed. On getting there, the bed needed just Allen Key which I had all the sizes. However, I found out that the screws were washed and the Allen key was not workable. As I arrived I saw some people taking away chairs and a dismantled dining table which she told me that she just sold to them.That is why it was not dissambled not that I do not have tools. She did not even know because she was all the time busy on her phone and I was doing all the work with her boyfriend.

3. In general, this was the most disorganised customer I have ever dealt with. I had 3 jobs on Saturday 09:00AM, her job at 12:15 for 2 hours, and another at 15:00. I called her at 10:30 AM sfter the first job to finalise things and she asked me to come a bit later like 12:30 which I agreed. About 12 noon I informed her that I was on my way and she asked me to delay till 13:00 that she had some guests. I told her I was already close by. At that point I sensed that the 2 hour job will finish by 3 PM so I called the office to ask for the job of 3 PM to be allocated to another driver.

Eventually I arrived at 1PM only to see another van packed and people loading the dining table, chairs and other items. So it was like she sold the items to these persons in the last minute. In summary we were still loading till 3 PM because she was all the time on her phone, she was making decision on the spot and changing her mind on what to take and not take. The last thing I did was to dismantle her window blind and the rail which I have never done for any customer but this shows how unprepared she was.

At the new flat it was another story. In the description, she said NO stairs. But she didn't mention that there was a lift and she lives on the fouth floor and my van could not park in front of the apartment but a distance of some yards. The fact is that I finished offloading and bringing all the stuff up to her flat at 5:38PM. The office called me by 15:47PM and I was still busy with her job. I was so busy that I didn't see that a new job was assigned to me which I couldn't do.

She actually underpaid me but I just wanted to leave the place. Her job was for 2 hours 13:00 - 15:00 but It had extra 2 hours and 38 minutes which at £13 per each 30 minutes is more than she paid. She did not pay for disassembly and reassembly of the bed becaue it was not done. SHe paid for the extra hours.

I also forgot to mention that I dismantled a very large wardrobe singlehandedly for the customer in place of the bed frame which was much simpler. Like I said she underpaid me for all the work.
