Driver was on time Didn't have straps and blankets Driver was not respectful The driver arrived on time . I had asked in my request for someone to dismantle a bunk bed and table, he was not aware but he eventually agreed to do it.
He was not willing for the person moving to travel in the van and I had to arrange a taxi at the last moment. He threatened to go to the destination and unpack the load on the van and leave them outside the property if the mover did not arrive straightaway. I spoke to him several times on the phone and he kept saying that if he knew it was a council job he would not have accepted. This job was booked for 3 hours with 2 helpers with 1 person travelling in the van. If the driver's policy is that no one travels in the van he should not have accepted and whilst there was some waiting time from one address to get in to the other he was booked and we paid for 3 hours and he should not be threatening to abandon the job before then. I was not at the collection address or the destination but the conversations I had with the driver and some of the conversations I heard between him and our client were inappropriate and unprofessional and he is the professional providing a service. | 1 year ago |

I said 3.30pm was really the latest I could do because I had plans in the evening I couldn’t change. He was then unresponsive for the rest of the day and when I did finally get hold of him way past 3pm he was completely vague about what time he would be able to come and told me he was happy to move into the night which obviously didn’t suit my plans. I even asked if we could rearrange to the next day since it was so late, and funnily enough the driver had plans he couldn’t miss. I finally contacted customer support at around 4pm and they were super helpful. They informed me that if the driver knew there was a problem in the morning then he should have cancelled so someone else could fulfil the booking and gave me a refund. Overall a complete waste of time and disappointment

Refused to carry items from van to flat, and demanded an additional £200 to do so. We didn't pay, so he dumped all the furniture, beds, mattress etc on the pavement. Driver was not on time Didn't have straps and blankets Driver was not respectful Good evening, I had a very bad experience with this driver and a no service were provided… at the first place I was trying to get hold of him was no answer until before the very last day then he offered a bigger van for extra £40 what I said yes too, then on the 8th ( moving day) an hour before the actual booked time (. 9 am) the driver called he will not come just at 10 am, he arrived 10.15 am with a very small van not the biggest what Ive been offered so the fridge will fit ( he was talking Polish to his boss on the phone, very rude) then we said we would like the van he offered so we asked him to come back with that van, he agreed another driver will come at 1.30 pm- he never came no answer on the phone after! Very bad time ,made our move an absolute nightmare so I would like the full deposit to be refunded asap. Thank you Mrs Sari

We had struggled to contact him earlier in the week but were reassured by the company that he would be there and would be in touch on the day. We spent all day ringing customer services only to be told it was a messaging taking service only and we would be contacted in 15 minutes. We tried every 15 minutes for nearly two hours before giving up. We are a couple moving house from London to Manchester with a young baby and had to unpack his cot so that he could nap whilst we waited. Absolutely atrocious service and very poor overall experience. We are also expecting a full refund for this failure to provide what was promised and have had to hire a self drive van in order to empty our property before our sale completes.

But i did end up booking it really late, like 15 mins before the arrival time and he is was the most helpful guy ever and really nice. He did all the lifting work even though i hadn't booked/paid him for that and he waited around while i worked out things with the storage people and then drove me home. A really, really nice bloke to chat too also, I wouldn't hesitate in using him again.

Called 15 mins before supposed to arrive saying hes on another job wont be there till 12 (was meant to come 10.30) then at 12.10 i called asking where he was said he'll call back in 5 and let me know. Called back said he wont be there now till 1.30. Ridiculous! Waiting around for so long, already had all my furnature waiting outside!!! cancelled on him and got a local. And not to mention he was abit rude on the phone when i was cancelling, even though i was being so nice about the whole thing! Compare the man and van company were great with us though! Driver was on time Had straps and blankets Driver was respectful The driver arrived 10 mins before the booked time, as well as giving me a call beforehand. He was polite, hardworking and handled my furniture with care. Unfortunately we got rained on whilst on the move, but he soldiered on for us!
The van was as described, clean & tidy and well-equipped with blankets and straps. I am very happy with the service I received, and would definitely use them again. Thank you :-) | 9 years ago |

Driver was on time Had straps and blankets Driver was respectful Stephen and Kevin were really fantastic and couldn't have made our move any smoother. Both Stephen and Kevin were so polite and helpful and made us feel really reassured. We couldn't have ask for a better move. All of our possessions were very well handled and the van was incredibly well looked after and equipped for storing your items during transit. We couldn't recommend Stephen and Kevin enough!! We will definitely be recommending them and CompareTheManAndVan too! They made what can be a stressful time, actually really enjoyable and straightforward!!
