He was not willing for the person moving to travel in the van and I had to arrange a taxi at the last moment. He threatened to go to the destination and unpack the load on the van and leave them outside the property if the mover did not arrive straightaway. I spoke to him several times on the phone and he kept saying that if he knew it was a council job he would not have accepted. This job was booked for 3 hours with 2 helpers with 1 person travelling in the van. If the driver's policy is that no one travels in the van he should not have accepted and whilst there was some waiting time from one address to get in to the other he was booked and we paid for 3 hours and he should not be threatening to abandon the job before then. I was not at the collection address or the destination but the conversations I had with the driver and some of the conversations I heard between him and our client were inappropriate and unprofessional and he is the professional providing a service. | 24th March |

I said 3.30pm was really the latest I could do because I had plans in the evening I couldn’t change. He was then unresponsive for the rest of the day and when I did finally get hold of him way past 3pm he was completely vague about what time he would be able to come and told me he was happy to move into the night which obviously didn’t suit my plans. I even asked if we could rearrange to the next day since it was so late, and funnily enough the driver had plans he couldn’t miss. I finally contacted customer support at around 4pm and they were super helpful. They informed me that if the driver knew there was a problem in the morning then he should have cancelled so someone else could fulfil the booking and gave me a refund. Overall a complete waste of time and disappointment

We had struggled to contact him earlier in the week but were reassured by the company that he would be there and would be in touch on the day. We spent all day ringing customer services only to be told it was a messaging taking service only and we would be contacted in 15 minutes. We tried every 15 minutes for nearly two hours before giving up. We are a couple moving house from London to Manchester with a young baby and had to unpack his cot so that he could nap whilst we waited. Absolutely atrocious service and very poor overall experience. We are also expecting a full refund for this failure to provide what was promised and have had to hire a self drive van in order to empty our property before our sale completes.

Both Stephen and Kevin were so polite and helpful and made us feel really reassured. We couldn't have ask for a better move. All of our possessions were very well handled and the van was incredibly well looked after and equipped for storing your items during transit. We couldn't recommend Stephen and Kevin enough!! We will definitely be recommending them and CompareTheManAndVan too! They made what can be a stressful time, actually really enjoyable and straightforward!!
