The driver was rude, but his helper was nice. The driver clearly had double booked - he called 2h before the meeting time to ask if we could start an hour earlier, which I was not able to do as I had several friends coming to help as well. As soon as we got things unloaded he wanted to leave immediately and wasn’t available/willing to help with assembling furniture even though there was a full hour left on the clock and I had alerted him to this being needed when I booked the van. I paid for 3h, only got 2. Awful, rude man. Nice helper though. The driver didn’t help move the items, and I hadn’t paid for two people so that was as expected. He was on the phone the entire time I think trying to book the next move, and/or appease the next customer since he had clearly double booked.

Driver was fantastic, really helpful, went above and beyond!!!

Despite the driver being a little late this was an excellent service. He was helpful and friendly and made moving so much easier!

our original driver was stuck on a job and notified us 30mins before job was supposed to start (which was rush hour) so the company sent out a different driver/van so was booked for 4.30pm and new driver didn't arrive till 5.20pm. however, I booked 1 man but 2 turned up and both were extremely helpful, 1 even stayed in the back during transit so the item didn't fall, as was extremely heavy and needed more support than just straps. very dedicated to the job and helpful!

He arrived 2 hrs late and barely lifted a finger, got his employee to do most of work. Was complaining that he came all the way from london although he knew this when he accepted the job.
Caused me a lot of problems being so late and charged me more money for a bigger van.

DRIVER'S RESPONSE (14-07-2019):

Yes we arrived late because I drove 70 miles from London. I called her and informed her of my ETA which was about 1:30PM in the beginning, and we were at the address at 1:45PM.

We had been caught in heavy traffic near Tunbridge wells and I informed her of the delay so that she would not be stressed. She booked a large van but she was moving house so a Luton was required and filled. My van was definitely overloaded but I did not complain about it.

Her boyfriend and the porter brought the stuff to me and as I have the expertise I packed the van because if I did not several trips would have been needed.

This was a full house move and her sister also loaded her items inside the van. Karen got the cheapest deal in the area and if I did not help her to move yesterday trust me she would not be able to move.

Also she did not pay what she agreed because of the size. She just payed £10 for Giant luton Van. I don’t understand why she has posted a negative review instead of being thankful.

We booked for three men but only 2 arrived, the main man was busy on his phone the entire time once unloading the van and left his helper to unload with very little help and was clearly struggling, In the end my partner stepped in to help as the driver was far to busy on the phone, and his carelessness caused damage to the wall on our new property as he tried to drag our sofa whilst on the phone
However his helper was very helpful and I felt very sorry for him.

Driver's response:
"This review is totally unbelievable. Before arriving at the collection address, one of my porter's had received a telephone call with some very serious news relating to his father and had to leave immediately. I called Abbie and explained that there was going to be a delay, provided my ETA, and Abbie did not raise any issues about this. During the booking we did all the lifting including the furniture. Abbie had booked a Large sized van but we arrived in a Giant van and filled the van at no extra cost. Abbie was happy and offered us water and chocolate."

The driver was careful and helpful, however the van company were pushy for me to pay for a luton van, even though i ordered a large van. In the end a luton van arrived. I think because the company only had the luton van he wanted an extra £30, which was cheeky, considering i had requested a large van. Driver was good and helpful though.

CMV response:

Driver's with larger vans will often quote for smaller van load bookings, however, the luton van rate would only be applied if you overfilled the large van capacity, which would be the equivalent of a luton load.

We will always give you the best advice on the size of van we think best for your move, however, it is always the customer's decision what size of van they book.

The man was very aggressive, arrived with two people in his van when we were meant to be able to travel with him to our new address. He was constantly chain smoking and seemed unprofessional. Forced us to get an uber. We felt quite threatened. He was patronising to us three women and a male neighbour who helped - at one point telling him he was and idiot for putting a box in the van - he flicked this man's cap and the neighbour stopped helping and was obviously upset.
We had to get an uber - we were by this point not wanting to be in a small space with this aggressive man but also weren't comfortable with him taking our stuff with no guarantee. He had been putting me onto his "manager" who I do not believe was from this site. He couldn't speak English very well and wouldn't answer my questions or explain the next steps to me, so it felt like he was on the rude driver's side not impartial.

We managed to get it done in the 2hrs 30mins, but only because we'd already had all of the stuff downstairs, the mover didn't do any of the hard work except a few heavy suitcases. At the other end it was all us taking the stuff up the stairs - really wasn't worth paying for the driver to help.

He kept asking us patronisingly if we were "happy now?", making comments about how were had been to angry with no need - but there was need as he was rude, late, slow, didn't help much, intimidating, unprofessional and wouldn't accept it was his problem that he had bought two of his friends/helpers in the car with him - we hired the van not them.

Driver's response:

Thanks for giving me a chance to clear the position. The problem arises as it was not mentioned that the customer wanted to travel with the driver . The driver finished the previous job with two helpers and he went straight to Ellie’s job . He offered her free helpers to compensate for the situation . After that he came to me and I tried to manage the situation by offering her two extra helpers without any charges . But then she asked me for the Uber fare as well which I declined to pay and advised the driver to send the two helpers back and accommodate her so that she could travel in the van. At that time she was ok with that . I don’t know what happened afterwards or why she is complaining . One more thing I want to explain is she was complaining about the size of van even though it was Giant Luton Van . I know that when people are moving they can be very stressed , that is why I tried my best to help her but instead of appreciating my efforts she posted the bad review.

Great to be able to get a van from you within two hours after another website let us know. Thank you. Will recommend you to others.
