I booked only one driver as helper so that a spare seat can be provided. However on the day the driver unexpectedly brought an extra helper without informing in advance. As a result I was left with no seat and had to plan my own transportation. In the end they asked for extra charge of �60 in cash for the extra helper, which was actually not requested. The guys were complaining all the time about some heavy boxes (around 20kg), the hot weather, and the workload, even though the booking has already clearly stated that one side has no lift. One star for not damaging items, another star for at least completing the job. Sorry about the experience.

Compare the Man and Van take customer satisfaction extremely seriously. Following this complaint the driver was cancelled and removed from the site.

The van and man I originally booked was not the one I chose from the website, and I was assigned several different people in the run up to my move. The van was 15 mins late, but he then had to move the van and have a cigarette, so we didn't start loading up until 25-30 mins after the van was booked. I booked a van with 2 spaces up front, but my van arrived with 2 men, so there was only space for one in the cab, which meant we were rather cramped as I had instruments which needed to travel in the cab with me. My van driver smoked during the drive and used his mobile phone to text and talk whilst driving, which didn't feel very safe. I had to use my phone as sat nav for the final hour of the journey, as the battery ran out on the van driver's phone. This cost me money in data charges. The van driver was pleasant and respectful towards me and my belongings, and everything arrived at my destination in one piece, but I don't feel this was a very professional service, and would not recommend this service to others.
